I was excited before...now I'm edging toward twitching levels of excitement. I've had to rewatch the extended trailer several times to try and get everything. I love the cast, the work, everything! I especially love that he reached out to Oliver. It make sense since there is trouble in his city and believes he can't stop this bad guy, so naturally he reaches out to the only hero he knows...the Arrow. Or maybe just get some advice. Still I don't want him running to him too often. Because we're happy happy happy happy happy happy happy happy happy Wait...isn't there a song like that? Still super hyped about this trailer! I can't even... Words are failing me right now to express how excited I am about this. I just need something now. I need...I don't know, I need to re-watch that trailer again! I should create a thread for this, but I'm wondering what Wells is opening there, with that special hand scan thing and special hidden door. What is going on with that? ![](http://flashfans.sosugary.org/albums/userpics/10001/113.png) Cisco's shirt man. Just Cisco's shirt.

Harrison Wells was reminding me of Professor X during the trailer. I have a feeling that he has another particle accelerator. Maybe he could be working with Zoom in the future? Sorry, but whag is on Cisco's shirt? During the trailer, I thought it was a GL shirt. Is it a video game?

It's a classic arcade game or it reminds me of one. I remember when I was younger there was a game like that in the play room of the camp I went to...I remember trying to play it or pretend play it (since you needed money)cause all the older kids would hang around it and I wanted to seem cool like them. Ah, youth.
Yeah, I just thought it was cool because it seems so him. Especially with him saying 'the bomb' and all. He seems the type to find arcade game shirts cool.

Another thing I've noticed: the magazine Barry is carrying at one point to keep the rain off his head is called "Science Showcase". Barry's first comic book appearance was in Showcase #4 (in 1956). Hey, thank you for all those little informations about the comics, it's interesting, and it helps to understand the show more for people like me who are not familiar with them ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) I wonder how will Oliver react when he finds out people have superpowers ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png) Guys, look at the number of views already and it's only been out one day!!!!! ![:o](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/shocked.png)

Some of the dialogue seems a bit cheesy, but that's forgivable. I still hate the dead mother angle, but it looks like everything else about this series is going to be great. Well, the dialogue in Arrow is cheesy at times as well. But these are superhero shows so I think that's to be expected a bit. The dead mother stuff isn't the way I would have went with it (I much prefer Barry's Silver Age origin) but I think it was added in to get people excited for a possible appearance by the Reverse-Flash. Oh, I'm cool with the cheese. I think that Barry needs a better origin though. The original was basically just half a page before they got on with everything else. I rather liked what they did in Young Justice, with all the Flashes basically just recreating the conditions of Jay's origin in a mad fanboy experiment. It drives home what makes Barry interesting to me, which is that he's this basically normal, good guy who just so happens to be able to build a time machine that runs on goes fast in his garage. The super speed and his relationships with his villains helps, but that's the core of the character for me and the New52 origin just muddles that up.

A lot of people have been talking about how Barry has Caitlin, Cisco and Harrison helping him out. Basically he'll have a "Team Flash" like Ollie has "Team Arrow". That's part of it (and since it worked on Arrow, why not use it on The Flash?), but I think it also helps in terms of explanation/exposition for the audience.
During Barry's original comic book series, if he (or the writer) wanted to explain something to the reader there were narration boxes or thought balloons to do so. During Wally's series they introduced the first person narration boxes letting us know what Wally thought about the particular situation he's in, how he plans to defeat a supervillain, etc.
Since you can't really do that on TV, it makes that Barry (and also Oliver on Arrow) have someone they can explain things to let the audience know what they're trying to do in case it isn't immediately obvious. Since neither Barry or Oliver have a sidekick at this point (well, Oliver probably will next season), when they need to explain how something works or what's happening they can just talk to one of the other characters over the radio, thus letting the audience in on their thought process.

That makes sense. I'll explain it like that from now on. I've always thought that it was character dynamic to have certain characters work off each other. Plus it would be dull as dirt to see Barry figuring it all out by himself with no help and little interaction. In the comics it works cause as you said inner narration is shown, but in the show he needs to explain himself and what is going on around him without it seeming like a bad play by play of everything he does or sound like he is crazy as he explains things out loud for no good reason.

I like it. I like it a lot. I've never read the comic book, but I think I'll still enjoy this series a lot.

I saw an episode of Arrow earlier, and it wasn't great imo. However, this trailer is making The Flash look a lot better. Maybe it has to do with the fact that The Flash is much more awesome.
